I have made a number of cardigans and sweaters inspired by the flowers that grow and flourish around my studio here in Hadeland. The white willow cardigan is inspired by the white willow that lights up the forest in early spring and brings with it the promise of brighter days. The cardigan has a round yoke with a floral motif and embroidered knot stitches that illustrate the stamens. The background color in the cardigan is taken from the forest floor before the new life begins to sprout and grow.

 YARN
 Ash wool yarn, 100% Norwegian wool from Hillesvåg
 woolen factory. 100 g = approx. 315 m.
 Yarn consumption:
 300 (350) 350 (400) 450 g melange brown no. 6102 = color 1.
 50 (50) 100 (100) 100 g unbleached white no. 6057 = color 2.
 50 (50) 50 (50) 50 g brass yellow no. 6092 = color 3.
 PINS
 Needles size 2.5 and 3. If you knit more tightly when knitting patterns, knit these sections on needles size 3.5. Crochet hook size 2.5.
 KNITTING TENSION
 24 sts in stocking st/pattern st on needles size 3/3.5 = 10 cm in width.
 ACCESSORIES
 8 beautiful buttons – I used brassy yellow buttons that sparkle a little.
 1.5 m of tape to cover the wound edges.
