Knitting design for school children aged 6 - 12 years inspired by Peru's warmth of heart

The heart knitting book is for you who are looking for something as rare as recipes for girls and boys between 6 and 12 years! You get well-explained recipes for lovely sweaters, dresses, ponchos, hats, scarves and mittens. There is a pattern for pillows and shawls as well, which is suitable for both children and adults. Everything is knitted in the softest alpaca.

The inspiration, patterns and colors I have used, I have found on my trips to Peru - that is where the alpacas live. The garments are Norwegian on average and adapted to our everyday lives so that they slip into the wardrobe of a school girl or boy here in Norway as well. You can also join a trip up to Mallkini, where we met two of the alpaca shepherds' children, Marisol and Alex for the very first time. Two frozen, poor children who touched our hearts and who were the inspiration to start raising money to build a primary school up here in the Andes, 4300 meters above sea level, in the kingdom of the alpacas!

This is my heart book, a book of 200 pages full of real love for good knitting patterns, beautiful colors, the children of Peru, the alpaca animals and their shepherds - and not least the love of Per, then.

"Heart knitting - yarn helps children"

In this lecture, Kari will take you on a journey to Peru. Here she shows where she found inspiration for her 11th knitting book, Heart Knitting and how she and Per changed their lives through a meeting with two of the children of the alpaca shepherds in the Andes. Here, on top of the world, a seed was sown, and the seed grew into a boarding school for 60 Native American children. A dream came true through knitting hands, donor joy and an international collaboration in the yarn industry.
